If music is your passion, it’s all happening under one roof onLimerick’sThomas Street. The music is as versatile as the venue itself, with live bands, traditional Irish music sessions, top DJs and even percussion sets. Welcome to Aubars and Paddy Frawleys, located at49-50 Thomas Street.

Paddy Frawleys prides itself in its live traditional Irish music and acoustic sessions, every Thursday and Sunday. Only open since December of last year, this retro Irish style bar with its unique atmosphere and quirky interior has already become a regular host toLimerick’s finest musicians such as Cuisle, Acoustra and Hermitage Green. Its adjoining venue Aubars is as lively as ever. Recognised as one ofLimerick’s top late night venues and almost legendary for its great cocktails, Aubars, with its stylish interior and relaxed atmosphere, kick starts the weekend with free admission to fantastic live music every Friday. Regulars to the Friday night slot include Grassroots, Treble and Bass, 40 Foot Woman and Jackie Chan Allstars.

Downstairs at The Club, the weekend pumps on. Friday nights give clubbers a real feast for their senses, as Colm O Siochru (of Birdthistle and Cuisle fame) joins resident DJ Peter Burns with a live percussion set. Highly recommended, this interesting twist is one not to be missed. ‘Style Saturdays’ offers club goers a popular night of great music and promotions, as one of Ireland’s most experienced DJs Johnny Hammond takes centre stage.

Overall, it seems evident that it’s all about the music here, and there’s everything to experience at these three great venues. All live music can be enjoyed with no cover charge. The Club @ Aubars is free before 12pm and only five euro after 12 on Fridays, ten euro after 12 on Saturdays.
